Soldier vs. Inchworm

I know I say this a lot, but it still amazes me how two kids with the same parents, so close in age, can be so different.  B is really on the move these days!  And although he's not officially up on his hands and knees crawling, he can cover a lot of ground.  H did the same thing, and from watching my friends' kids it seems all babies come up with their own way to scoot before technical crawling.

The funny thing is, she was totally army crawl.  She would've survived the trenches. She used her upper body, reached those arms forward and dragged the rest of her body weight forward.  So naturally, like the forgetful idiot I am raising a 2nd one, I waited for him to do the same.  Nope.  He's a little inchworm.  He uses his little fat knees to raise his booty in the air and then launches his top half forward.

We have been trying to get a good video of it, but much like his sister, he doesn't like to perform for us.  And now he's pushing up on his knees and rocking; preparing to do a real big boy crawl already.   So I'm sorry we never caught a good demo of him doing the worm, but enjoy this big boy moment:

I can't believe it's been 6 months.  I can't believe he's eating solids.  I can't believe he's not a baby baby anymore.  But I'm excited at every turn.  I love the toddler stage so much.  Walking, talking, actually listening when we read.  The problem is they grow out of that stage just as fast.  Can't I just keep them little forever?

  2. When he gets really concerned he makes T's "we're out of beer" face! I love hearing him talk.
